Planning for the Witchy Woman
Many years ago, I purchased a Franklin Covey planning system that I really couldn’t afford. With two small children, money was more than tight. I felt trapped in a prison of my own making and I was floundering through each day. I’d had some experience with strategic planning, but that system was extremely expensive and very complicated. I started researching and I read a couple of Stephen Covey’s books. I decided to splurge on a kit that contained a dated year long planner, a cheap binder, and all the components that go into the Franklin Covey system.
Rushing home, I immediately ripped open the package and started to assemble the system. I was so excited and I have to say, I remained faithful to the FC system for years. I loved that it was more than just a calendar. It made me think about what I wanted to accomplish in my life, what I wanted for my children, my household, my spirituality, my community. Then, it taught me how to plan for it. I upgraded my binders and started making my own pages to add to the system. I even purchased the blank pages and printer guides from Franklin Covey so they would blend seamlessly with the FC printed pages, with their rounded edges.
Eventually I Started to Outgrow that Planning System
While I loved that system, there were other things I wanted to track. I had started to homeschool my children and back then there were no homeschool pages, or planners for homeschoolers. Most of the homeschool moms I knew were using regular classroom planners, made for teachers teaching a couple of dozen kids and if you did find something meant for homeschoolers, it almost definitely had a Christian slant to it, which wasn’t my thing.
As the years went by, I started to invest in other planners, getting more metaphysical and less entrepreneurial. It became more and more important to me to have access to what I wanted. I tried many different systems over the years. At the end of my paper planning journey, I had a Frankenstein planner of mostly what I created and printed for myself. Once I discovered digital planning, everything changed. There was no need to waste paper, no costly ink. Whatever I wanted, in as many colors as pleased me with no thought to waste, really excited me.
They Say if You Want Something Done Right, Do it Yourself
I created a line of planners and planning tools that I used myself. Sharing my creations, I’m able to help women really get to the heart of what they want and where they want to go. I love this work and I love the women who are a part of it. Sometimes when I think back to that young woman and that $40.00, I have to chuckle. Who knew the journey she would embark on?
It is my wish to share with you, how I do this. Planning, setting intentions and manifesting them. This is for all the women who want to make a difference in the world, their community, their home, themselves. I created this for all the women who are determined to build a life, an empire, or a community that nourishes spirits and enriches lives. For all my sisters who are strategic and woo. I see you.
