I am a planner. I’m always trying out new tools, ideas, and platforms. I’m not discontented with the current system, I just want to make sure that I’m using everything available to me. Planning for the new year, in December is my favorite thing to do, although I have done this each season, quarter, month, or whenever I’m looking for a big life change.
My Planning Story
A long time ago, I purchased a Franklin Covey “kit”. I received a low end, fake leather book, and all the FC pages that I needed to get started. I talk about that here, if you’re interested. As my planning evolved, I started to create my own pages. Before I went completely digital, my planner was a hodgepodge of purchased pages, downloaded free pages, and pages of my own creation. I recently started using Notion for all my planning and I love it. Go check it out – you can use it for free, forever. I upgraded because I use a lot of imagery in my planner and needed more storage.
At the end of every year, I take stock. I look at everything I’ve accomplished, what still needs fine tuning, and what I want for the year ahead. Over the years I’ve developed a strategy I call “Jump Start”. Basically, it’s a guide book for strategy on planning your future. In it, we cover things that you’re proud of, what you want your life to be about, people you want to meet, or get closer to and things you want to let go of. We pick a word of the year, commit to monthly acts of self care, and explore the things that interest you, that you’d like to explore further. There is room to do a tarot or oracle spread for the coming year that you can refer back to and finally there is space for your “Be, Do, Have” lists.
There is power in planning. Setting your intentions is a great way to keep the focus on your goals and intentions. I like to finish it up on the last new moon of the year to bring all the goodness into being. I love doing this so much that I’m making it available to you, for free. You don’t have to join my mailing list, you don’t have to do anything. Download from the links below and I hope you have a lovely year ahead.
