Sometimes you need a creativity prompt. Living a creative life can be hard. Sustainability is key. Sometimes, however, the ideas just aren’t flowing. This is why I so believe in the idea of a creativity prompt. Simply put, creativity prompts are just exercises to keep the juices flowing.
In a perfect world, I would say that doing these exercises every day is ideal, but life often gets in the way. I do try to do this regularly and like any other exercise, the more I do it, the better I feel. There are so many websites devoted to offering ideas on creativity prompts – I’ve listed a few below.
- 68 Inspiring Prompts to Unleash Your Creativity
- 10 Unusual Creativity Prompts To Help You Get Unstuck
- 15 Fun Drawing Prompts
- 365 Creative Writing Prompts
- Musical Creative Writing Prompts

And that’s just from a couple of quick Google searches. There are tons of resources. What can you think of to add to your creativity prompt list? What about randomly pulling spices from your pantry and coming up with a recipe using all of them? The options for prompts are literally endless.
#CreativityPrompt Challenge
What I’ve decided to do, in an effort to make my own practice more doable and maybe to help you, as well, is start a Creativity Prompt Challenge. You can find it over on my Instagram, Facebook Page, and Pinterest. Every Wednesday, I’ll post a new creativity prompt and hopefully you’ll play along. You can be as public or private as you like. Keep it to yourself, send it to me directly, or share it on social with the hashtag #CLCreativityPrompt Let’s have some fun with this.
If you need a little help in the creativity and planning department, I hope you’ll consider working with me.
